Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data Wheatsheaf Property holds, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website and the correspondence we send to landowners.

Who we are

Wheatsheaf Property is a residential property development business operating across London and the South East of England. For anything in this policy, including any request about your own data, contact us at consult@wheatsheafproperty.co.uk.

We are the data controller for the personal data described below. That means we decide why and how it is used.

What this website collects

Very little, by design. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party tracking scripts. There is no advertising, no profiling and no visitor identification of any kind.

The consultation form on the home page is the one place the site does collect something. When you submit it, your name, email address and message are sent over an encrypted connection to our own server and emailed to us. We use that to reply to you, and for nothing else. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, and where a transaction is in prospect, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

The email is delivered by Resend, an email service acting as a processor on our behalf, and then sits in our mailbox. We do not add you to a mailing list, and there is no mailing list to add you to.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which processes technical request data on our behalf. That includes IP addresses, timestamps, the pages requested, and browser and device information. It is generated automatically by the act of visiting any website and is used to serve the site, keep it available and protect it from abuse.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running a secure and functioning website. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors. Vercel retains them under its own retention schedule.

If you email us

When you write to us we receive your name, your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use it to answer you and, if it leads somewhere, to progress the discussion.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, and where a transaction is in prospect, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Your email sits in our mailbox, held by our email provider as a processor on our behalf.

Landowner correspondence

Part of our business is identifying land that may be suitable for development and writing to the people who own it. If you have received a letter from us, this section explains where your details came from.

The private reports area

Pages under /reports/ are restricted with a shared password. We do not create accounts, so there is no username, no profile and no record of who opened which page beyond the ordinary server logs described above.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: our website host, Resend for delivering form submissions, and our email provider. Where a professional adviser needs to be involved in a specific transaction, for example a solicitor or planning consultant, we share only what that piece of work requires. We disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and correspondence that do not lead anywhere are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. Records relating to a completed transaction are kept for as long as we need them for legal, tax and accounting purposes. Where you have asked us not to contact you again, we keep the minimum record needed to honour that.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

Email consult@wheatsheafproperty.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can try to put it right.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top.
